MAREAS (Movements for Reproductive Autonomy, Equality and Solidarity) is an interregional feminist initiative designed to strengthen civil society organizations and movements working to advance reproductive autonomy across Africa and Latin America.
Our vision is a world where reproductive autonomy is fully respected and guaranteed as a fundamental condition for gender equality and social justice.
Our Mission
We provide feminist resourcing that includes flexible funding, technical accompaniment, and opportunities for collaboration and learning so that feminist organizations can strengthen their leadership, expand their impact, and advance locally defined priorities.

What We Aim to Achieve
- Strengthen the leadership and impact of feminist organizations
- Transform gender norms, public discourse, legal and policy environments
- Strengthen reproductive justice ecosystems
- Increase access to information, services, and support related to sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Foster solidarity and learning across movements and regions
Our Values
Feminist Leadership and Resourcing
Meaningful change happens when communities most affected lead the decision-making processes. We foster feminist leadership and resource local actors to drive change in their own communities.
Participation and Inclusion
We prioritise participation, collaboration, inclusion, and non-discrimination in our feminist resourcing and partnerships. We work with and for local movements.
Solidarity and South-South Dialogue
We foster connections and learning between regions, countries, organizations and movements to strengthen collective action and South-South dialogue.
Accompaniment and Collective Learning
We work alongside organizations through tailored support, accompaniment and capacity strengthening, while also creating opportunities for peer learning and knowledge exchange through technical working groups and communities of practice.
